Major Taylor Museum opening

Real estate development company Trinity Financial held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 29, 2021, for the Major Taylor Museum and the Courthouse Lofts, both in the former Worcester County Courthouse building in Worcester, Mass. Major Taylor descendant Karen Brown Donovan spoke about her great-grandfather's power to inspire. At a sponsor reception the day before, Major Taylor biographer Todd Balf described the 1899 world champion's role as a pioneering Black athlete.

Initial hours for the museum, at 2 Main St., are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday though Sunday.
